Indravadan: A rich, ex-director of a multinational company, he constantly amuses himself by making fun of his uppity wife, disturbing the peace in his son, Sahil's home and firing the sparks between his wife and daughter-in-law. All in all, almost a
sutradhaar for the story. A quintessential Narad Muni, he is mischievous but still a child at heart.

Maya: She is Indravadan's wife and likes only the crème de la crème in every aspect of her life and her family. Her bone of contention - daughter-in-law, Monisha, who is middle class. The confrontations with Monisha are always very suave and sugar-coated. She is also very talented, she wants to be very sure that her second son, Roshesh doesn't repeat the same mistake Sahil did. As a result, Roshesh hasn't found a girl.

Sahil: The plastic surgeon and Maya's eldest son, he is soft, noble and very attached to both his mom and wife. He dislikes hurting anyone - basically, he cant say 'no'. He is the quintessential 'Indian male sandwiched between his wife and family'.

Monisha: The middle class girl, she is the eldest daughter-in-law of the Sarabhais. Her father was a detective and she seems to have got the same inquisitive genes in her. Committed to her husband, she sometimes also mothers him, knowing that he is innocent and well-meaning. She is not so talented as Maya. She hates the fact that Maya constantly belittles her, though she respects her, but she never lets an opportunity go to get back at Maya.
Roshesh: He is a typical mama's boy who is a bachelor because of his mom's finicky nature. He is very uppity and a wannabe actor.
Sonya: Maya's daughter, she is into occult, mainly tarot. She is quite acclaimed for it in the circles that she moves in. Not as snobbish as Maya but still quite uppity.
Dushyant: Sonya's husband, he is a
joru ka gulam and a gizmo freak. Usually follows Sonya's lead.
