The show, which started at 8 pm and was more than 4 hours long, started with the Tashan round. Karishma Tanna sizzled and won over a less-than-happy Bakhtiyaar Irani, who looked thoroughly dissatisfied with the judges’ decision.
The next round saw the most challenging performances from both teams. For the Zara Hatke round, the teams had to perform their dance with shadow play. The girls were declared the winners again and this saw the boys team’s confidence plummet. They looked in no mood to continue performing as they watched the girls’ points rise.
By the Hum Tum round however, it looked as if the boys had got their groove back. Their stunning performance saw them victorious in the third round and brought them back into the game.
But by round four, the girls team, namely Ashita Dhawan, had defeated Bhakhtiyar again and there was no going back. Through the fifth round, chaos broke with the boys protesting about the girls’ performances and the judging. Even the judges were embarrassed by their wrangling which led Chunkey Pandey to say, “I am ashamed of being a guy. I want to change my sex.”
Nonetheless, nothing could dampen the girls spirits as they took home the prize of a trip to Egypt. Mouni Roy got a special mention as the best dancer on ZND.
